Does Character AI Allow NSFW in 2026? The Filter, Explained
No, and it never has. What the Character AI NSFW filter blocks and allows under the official rules (the October 2024 safety update, the November 2025 under-18 changes, the 2026 age checks), why beta.character.ai and jailbreak prompts do not work, what c.ai+ changes, and which apps to use instead.
Every week someone asks me some version of the same question: does Character AI allow NSFW, is there a setting, does paying unlock it, does the old beta site still work. I keep a Character.AI account for exactly this reason, not to roleplay on it but to watch what the filter does and what the company says about it, because Character.AI is the app most people start on and the app most people leave, and the filter is the reason for both.
This page is the answer I wish existed when I started testing companion apps in 2022. It is built from the documents that actually bind the company: the Terms of Service last updated August 27, 2025, the Community Guidelines, the Privacy Policy effective July 1, 2026, and the three safety announcements on the official blog dated October 22, 2024, October 29, 2025 and September 3, 2026. Where I describe how the filter behaves in practice, that is from my own account and from the consistent complaints on the subreddit, not from a lab.
One thing this page will not do is teach you to get around the filter. Partly because I do not publish that on a site that ranks adult apps openly, and partly because the workarounds do not work for long and the terms let the company close your account for trying. If explicit roleplay is what you want, the honest advice is at the bottom: use an app that allows it, and I name four.
No. Character AI does not allow NSFW content in 2026, has not allowed it at any point since launch, and has said nothing that suggests it will. The Community Guidelines prohibit pornographic content and nudity, the Terms of Service (August 27, 2025) ban anything obscene or pornographic, and the October 22, 2024 safety update draws the line at graphic or specific descriptions of sexual acts. Romance, tension and fade-to-black are allowed on paper; in practice the Character AI NSFW filter fires on tame scenes too. c.ai+ ($9.99 a month) removes ads and slow mode, not the filter. The beta site was retired in September 2024. Jailbreak prompts violate the terms and can get an account suspended. For adult roleplay, use SpicyChat, CrushOn.ai or Janitor AI instead.
What the Character AI NSFW filter blocks
The Character AI NSFW filter blocks three things by rule and a much wider range of things in practice: pornographic content and nudity, which the Community Guidelines name outright; anything “obscene or pornographic,” which is item (x) on the list of content you agree not to submit in the Terms of Service last updated August 27, 2025; and “non-consensual sexual content, graphic or specific descriptions of sexual acts, or promotion or depiction of self-harm or suicide,” which is the wording the company used in its Community Safety Updates post on October 22, 2024. Those three documents are the whole official answer to “does Character AI allow NSFW,” and none of them contains an exception for adults, for paid accounts, for private chats or for user-created characters.
The guidelines phrase it as a standard rather than a list: “Respect Sexual Content Standards: Keep things appropriate. Illegal sexual content, child exploitation or abuse imagery, grooming, sexual extortion, pornographic content, and nudity are prohibited.” The terms add sexual harassment (xi) and sexual exploitation or abuse of a minor (xii) as separate items, and the same section says the company uses “automated and manual measures” to find violations. Read together, the policy is a hard ceiling at explicit description, with romance below it, and the ceiling applies to every account.
The three layers, and why the third one is the problem
What people call “the filter” is really three systems stacked, and the third is the one that frustrates adults. The first is the model itself, which is trained to steer away from explicit content. The second is a classifier that reads the reply before you see it and replaces it with the familiar “sometimes the AI generates a reply that doesn’t meet our guidelines” line. The third, added in the October 2024 update as “improved detection, response, and intervention related to user inputs,” reads what you type and can derail a scene on intent rather than on words. Security researchers at SplxAI who tested the platform in September 2024 described the model as the weak layer and the output filter as “the primary defense mechanism,” and rated the sexual-content filter as the most robust of the four categories they tried.
The practical result is the complaint that fills the subreddit and that I hit on my own account: the filter does not wait for anything explicit. A kiss that lingers, an argument that turns physical, a character undressing to go to sleep, all of these can trigger a deflection or a reply that changes the subject. That is not the policy; the policy allows romance. It is the classifier being tuned to err on the side of blocking, on a platform that decided in 2024 that a false positive costs less than a false negative. If a tame scene of yours got cut off and sent you searching, that is why: the rule is at “explicit,” the enforcement is somewhere around “suggestive,” and there is no setting that moves it.
What the filter lets through
Romance, tension, violence in fiction and mature themes are all allowed under the Community Guidelines, which describe the platform as “designed for immersive storytelling that spans every genre, from passionate romance and thrilling adventure to intense action and gripping mystery,” and which add that “fictional worlds naturally explore dramatic and provocative scenarios.” Those two sentences are the most permissive thing the company has ever published, and they matter, because they are the reason the platform is not simply a children’s product. Here is the line as the documents draw it, with the qualifier that the classifier sits below the line, not on it.
| Content | Official position | What happens in practice (2026) |
|---|---|---|
| Romance, dating, confessions, kissing | Allowed; “passionate romance” is named in the guidelines | Usually fine; longer physical descriptions get deflected |
| Fade-to-black, implied intimacy, morning-after scenes | Not prohibited by any document | Hit and miss; the scene often skips or the character changes subject |
| Suggestive dialogue, flirting, innuendo | Not prohibited | Frequently softened by the model; occasional block |
| Graphic or specific descriptions of sexual acts | Prohibited (October 22, 2024 update; Terms item x) | Blocked every time; reply replaced |
| Nudity, pornographic content | Prohibited (Community Guidelines) | Blocked; character creation with explicit descriptions is removed |
| Non-consensual sexual content | Prohibited (October 22, 2024 update) | Blocked; repeated attempts draw enforcement |
| Sexual content involving minors, grooming, sextortion | Prohibited (Terms items xii; guidelines); reported to law enforcement | Blocked; permanent ban and report |
| Violence, gore, horror in fiction | Allowed if fictional; “real-world violence, torture, gore” prohibited | Mostly allowed; intense self-harm themes trigger the crisis pop-up |
| Self-harm, suicide, eating disorders | Promotion or depiction prohibited | Pop-up with crisis resources added October 2024 |
Two things to take from the table (the test protocol behind the third column is on the how we test page). First, the gap between the second column and the third is the whole story of why people leave. Second, the under-18 row is worse: the guidelines say “users under 18 years old interact with an age-appropriate model specifically designed to reduce the likelihood of exposure to sensitive or suggestive content,” and since November 25, 2025 that model does not do open-ended chat at all. For a teenager the answer is not just no; it is that the chat feature itself is gone for them.
Characters versus chats
Character creation is moderated separately from conversations, and more strictly. The terms say the company may act by “restricting the visibility of content, suspending or removing content from the Services, suspending or terminating your account, and reporting you to law enforcement,” and the September 3, 2026 safety post says creators now get “notifications when content is moderated with explanations, plus an appeals process.” A character whose definition contains explicit description will be hidden from search or removed; a chat that drifts is deflected. That is why the “no filter” characters that circulate on Reddit stop working within days: the definition gets caught even when individual replies do not, and the character disappears from search. Independent guides from February 2026 call this a shadowban; the terms just call it restricting visibility.
The rules by date
The filter has had the same written rule since 2022 and progressively stricter enforcement since October 2024, and every step is dated in an official document. If you only read one section of this page, read this table, because most of the confusion online comes from advice written for a version of the platform that no longer exists.
| Date | Document | What changed |
|---|---|---|
| September 16, 2022 | beta.character.ai launch (per Wikipedia) | Public beta with the same no-pornography rule; the “beta” that guides still reference |
| May 11, 2023 | c.ai+ launch | $9.99 a month for faster replies and no waiting rooms; no content change |
| September 2024 | Beta site retired (per Wikipedia) | beta.character.ai replaced by character.ai; one site, one filter |
| October 22, 2024 | Community Safety Updates (blog) | Separate model for minors; “improved detection, response, and intervention” on user inputs; revised disclaimer on every chat; one-hour session notification; self-harm pop-up |
| August 27, 2025 | Terms of Service, last updated | Current prohibited-content list; “evade any technological measure” clause; termination “for any reason”; arbitration |
| October 29, 2025 | Under-18 announcement (blog) | Open-ended chat to be removed for under-18s “no later than November 25”; two-hour daily limit in the interim; in-house age model plus Persona |
| November 25, 2025 | Change complete | Under-18s keep videos, stories, streams and the feed; lose chat |
| April 2026 | Free tier | Mid-chat full-screen ads on by default (per eesel, June 2026); slow mode and swipe caps |
| Early 2026 | Age assurance for all accounts | In-house age estimation, then Persona selfie, then ID as a last step |
| July 1, 2026 | Privacy Policy, effective | Chats may be used “to train our artificial intelligence/machine learning models” |
| September 3, 2026 | Safety priorities post (blog) | Moderation notices with explanations and appeals; Parental Insights via k-ID; IWF and StopNCII memberships |
October 2024: the enforcement turned up
The October 22, 2024 post is the moment the filter went from a wall at “explicit” to a fence at “suggestive.” The company announced “changes to our models for minors (under the age of 18) that are designed to reduce the likelihood of encountering sensitive or suggestive content” and, for everyone, “improved detection, response, and intervention related to user inputs that violate our Terms or Community Guidelines.” The same post restated the line: “non-consensual sexual content, graphic or specific descriptions of sexual acts, or promotion or depiction of self-harm or suicide.” That is the document a support agent will point to if you ask why a tame scene was cut, and it is also the first time the company said plainly that it reads inputs, not only outputs.
November 2025: chat removed for under-18s
On October 29, 2025 the company announced it would “remove the ability for users under 18 to engage in open-ended chat with AI,” with the change complete “no later than November 25,” after an interim limit of two hours a day that would ramp down in the weeks before. Teens kept the ability to make videos, stories and streams with characters. The reason given was notable: the post cited “recent news reports raising questions … about how open-ended AI chat in general might affect teens, even when content controls work perfectly.” In other words, the company said the filter was not the issue; the format was. The September 3, 2026 post calls it “one of the most significant safety decisions we have ever made.” For this page the point is simple: the under-18 model that once made teens’ filter stricter has been replaced by no chat at all, so the teen version of the question has a one-word answer.
2026: age assurance for everyone
The October 2025 post said age would be decided by “an age assurance model in-house” combined with “leading third-party tools including Persona,” and the help centre describes the sequence: the age model runs on every account, a selfie is requested only if the model thinks you may be under 18 and you want to prove otherwise, and a government ID is asked for only as a final step if Persona cannot confirm from the selfie. Persona deletes the selfie or ID within seven days and Character.AI says it does not store them. Independent trackers date the broad rollout to adults to the first half of 2026, and my Character AI alternatives page covers the August 12, 2026 date-of-birth prompt that locked out large numbers of adults, which the subreddit reported for days. What age assurance did not do is create an adult tier. Verified adults get the same model, the same rules and the same filter as before; the check exists to keep minors out of chat, not to let adults into something new.
Can beta Character AI do NSFW? The workaround myths
No, beta Character AI cannot do NSFW, because beta Character AI no longer exists: the beta site launched on September 16, 2022 and was fully retired in September 2024 when the current site replaced it, and even while it ran it used the same model and the same no-pornography rule as the app. That gap closed with the redesign. Typing beta.character.ai today takes you to the current site, the current terms and the current classifier. Any guide that promises an unfiltered beta is describing a version of the platform that has been gone for two years.
The beta myth is the most durable, but it is one of a family, and every member fails the same way. Here are the ones I get asked about, with why each one does not work; none of them comes with instructions, because instructions are the part that violates the terms.
- “The old site” or “the beta link.” Retired September 2024. There is one site and one filter.
- “A hidden NSFW setting” or “a toggle in the app.” There is none. The settings screens have never had one, and the plus page lists no content option. A toggle exists on Joyland (paid, verified adults) and on several uncensored apps, which is where the rumour comes from.
- “c.ai+ unlocks it.” It does not; the section below goes through the plus page line by line.
- “Use a jailbreak character” or “a no-filter bot.” These get their definitions moderated and are hidden from search or removed, usually within days, and the September 2026 post says creators are now told why.
- “Misspell or space out words.” The 2024 SplxAI research found creative spelling could slip past the output filter at the time; the October 2024 update added input-side detection, and the filter is now widely described as intent-based. Beyond that, the guidelines prohibit “attempts to manipulate the system, create rule-breaking content, hack, reverse engineer, or bypass security and safety systems.”
- “Use a VPN or a new account after a ban.” The terms say that if you are blocked, “you agree not to implement any measures to circumvent such blocking (e.g., by masking your IP address or using a proxy IP address),” and any further access “is without the authorization of Character.AI.”
- “An app-store clone with no filter.” Not Character.AI. Several apps use the name or logo; the official seller is Character Technologies, Inc., and anything else is a different company with its own (usually unreadable) privacy policy.
The reason none of these last is structural, not bad luck. The output classifier sits between the model and you, so whatever the model is persuaded to write still has to pass it; the input detection means the persuasion itself can be flagged; and the company can retrain either layer overnight, which it did in October 2024. A workaround that takes a week to spread on Reddit takes an afternoon to close.
Why jailbreak prompts get accounts banned
Jailbreak prompts violate two documents at once and can end an account, because the Community Guidelines prohibit “attempts to manipulate the system, create rule-breaking content, hack, reverse engineer, or bypass security and safety systems,” and the Terms of Service say you agree not to “try to evade any technological measure designed to protect the Services.” The enforcement ladder is written down too: “we may remove content, issue warnings, or suspend accounts. In serious cases, we may permanently ban users or report them to law enforcement.” The terms go further and let the company “suspend or terminate your account … for any reason, including, without limitation, for lack of use or if Character.AI believes that you have violated or acted inconsistently with the letter or spirit of these Terms,” and add that termination “will not terminate Character.AI’s rights to your Content.”
In practice the ladder is climbed slowly. A single blocked message does nothing to your account; the classifier replaces the reply and moves on, which is why most people who fear a ban after one filtered scene never get one. An independent guide from February 2026 that I checked against my own experience puts it well: attempting adult content “does not usually result in a ban” because the filter stops the output before a violation exists, and what repeated bypass attempts earn first is “temporary chat slowdowns.” Where accounts are lost is at the top of the ladder: characters built to evade the filter, patterns of jailbreak prompting across many chats, and anything touching minors, which is reported. There is no appeal route for a terminated account beyond the help-centre ticket form, payments are “non-refundable, except where required by law,” and a c.ai+ subscription bought through the app stores has to be refunded through Apple or Google, not the company.
What a violation costs you
The cost of a ban on Character.AI is higher than on most platforms because of what you lose with it: the characters you built, the pinned memories, the chat histories, and, under the July 1, 2026 privacy policy, any popular character you made stays on the service without you, because the company reserves “the right to preserve that Character’s characteristics and to keep that Character active on the Services, even if you otherwise delete your data and your account.” A jailbreak prompt risks all of that for a scene that a $5.95 app would run without asking. That is the arithmetic, and it is why this page recommends switching rather than fighting; the editorial policy explains why I will not publish the prompts either way.
Does c.ai+ remove the Character AI NSFW filter?
No. c.ai+ costs $9.99 a month or $94.99 a year (the plus page shows $119.88 struck through to $94.99, a 21 percent saving) and every line on that page is about speed, memory and ads; none is about content. Per the plus page, c.ai+ buys no ads, “best memory,” unlimited top models, chat customisation, the premium DeepSqueak and LongSqueak chat styles, advanced Lorebook access, the highest daily feature limits, no slow mode, priority support and 20 percent bonus Charms. The free tier, per the same comparison, has full ads, standard memory, a daily cap on swipes and five pinned memories per chat. Since April 2026 the ads are full-screen and mid-chat by default, which is the real reason most people upgrade.
What c.ai+ does not change is the Community Guidelines, the Terms of Service or the classifier. The pricing analysis I checked (eesel, June 2026) puts it plainly: content filters are “unchanged by subscription tier.” On a paid account the same scenes deflect at the same points, only faster and without a 30-second ad in between; users report this constantly and I hit it too. If you are considering c.ai+ purely because you think paying signals adulthood, save the money; age is decided by the age-assurance model and Persona, not by a card. If you want Character.AI specifically and are tired of ads and slow mode, $94.99 a year is a fair price for that and nothing else. The wider comparison is in my real monthly cost guide, and the Character AI alternatives ranking sets $9.99 against what the same money buys elsewhere.
The “lite” tier and the Charms currency
Two smaller money things get mistaken for content features. A cheaper “lite” tier is reported at around $2.99 a month or $1.49 a week in September 2026; I could not confirm it on the subscribe page and it is a middle rung between Free and c.ai+, with no content difference. Charms are the virtual currency introduced in late 2025 that buys extra swipes and regenerations once the daily cap is hit; c.ai+ adds 20 percent to Charm purchases. Neither one touches the filter. Spending Charms to regenerate a deflected reply is the single most common way people burn money on this platform without getting the scene they wanted.
Will Character AI allow NSFW in the future?
Nothing published suggests it, and everything published since October 2024 points the other way, so the honest answer is no for as far ahead as anyone can see. Three reasons, each from the company’s own documents.
First, the direction of every rule change has been stricter: a separate model for minors in October 2024, chat removal for under-18s in November 2025, age assurance for all accounts in 2026, and a September 2026 post that lists memberships in the Internet Watch Foundation and StopNCII and a Parental Insights tool built with k-ID. A company adding parental oversight is not about to add an adult mode.
Second, the business is now advertising and fandom. The free tier carries full-screen ads, the blog in September 2026 is about “the next chapter of entertainment and fandom,” image models “for fandom,” studio-made microdramas and playable classic literature. Advertisers do not buy space next to explicit roleplay, and studios do not license characters into it. The product Character.AI is building in 2026 is closer to a streaming service than to the uncensored apps in my NSFW AI chat ranking.
Third, the legal exposure. The October 2025 post was written against a backdrop of lawsuits over teen safety, and the September 2026 post describes safeguards that “detect and respond to moments of distress.” A platform defending those cases has no room to loosen sexual-content rules for anyone, verified adult or not, because the argument in court is that the filter protects users regardless of age.
Could that change? The age-assurance system means the company now knows, to a reasonable confidence, who is an adult, which is the technical precondition for an adults-only mode. But knowing is not deciding, and the plus page, the guidelines and the terms all read the same on September 22, 2026 as they did a year earlier on content. If it changes, the What changed block at the bottom of this page will say so before the rumour does.
What to use instead for adult roleplay
SpicyChat is the answer for most people asking this question, and the full ranking of Character AI alternatives is where the details live; below is the short version, four apps, one line each on why, with prices from each platform’s own pricing page as checked on September 22, 2026. This is not an adult page, so category words only, and every one of these bans minors and real-person sexual content just as firmly as Character.AI does.
- SpicyChat (free with a peak-hour queue; plans from $5.95 a month). The closest thing to Character.AI with the filter switched off: a large user-made library, no content filter on text beyond the platform rules, and a free tier with a real daily allowance. It is the direct replacement if the filter is your only complaint.
- CrushOn.ai ($58.88 a year on Standard, about $4.91 a month; about 100 free messages a month). The cheapest paid option that still does the job, with a permissive filter, group chats and a toggle to hide the adult side of the library; the catch is monthly message caps that a heavy user will hit.
- Janitor AI (free on its own JLLM model; Janitor+ $12.99 a month since June 24, 2026). The Reddit consensus for free unfiltered roleplay and explicitly adults-only by its own help centre; the free model is weak and the people who love it mostly connect their own model, which is a setup step Character.AI never asked of anyone.
- Joyland AI (free with daily credits; Standard $9.99 a month). Looser than Character.AI but not uncensored: adult content is blocked on the free tier, the per-chat toggle is for verified adults on paid plans, and the filter is inconsistent. It is the pick for someone who wants the same format with fewer deflections rather than no rules; my Joyland review has the test.
If explicit content is the whole point, the first three are built for it and the ranking of the best NSFW AI chat apps compares them with the rest of the uncensored field, including single-companion apps like Nastia and Secrets that are not Character.AI-style libraries. The uncensored AI list covers the models and tools behind them. If you want the Character.AI format with a little more room, the Character AI alternatives list ranks nine apps by what each one fixes, with Joyland at the top. The free NSFW AI chat page covers which free tiers are real and which are trials, and the adult content policy explains how this site handles the category. Every price above is repeated in those pages with the pricing-page link that backs it.
Privacy: what Character.AI does with your chats
Character.AI’s Privacy Policy, effective July 1, 2026, says the company may use the information it collects, which includes your chats, “to train our artificial intelligence/machine learning models” and to “develop new features, algorithms and machine learning models,” and it offers no opt-out from that use. This matters on a page about NSFW for a plain reason: the scenes the filter cuts off are still stored, still read by “automated and manual measures” under the terms, and still eligible for training. Being blocked is not the same as being private.
The relevant clauses, quoted from the policy and the terms as read on September 22, 2026:
- Training. Under “How We Use the Information We Collect,” one purpose is to “analyze, maintain, improve, modify, customize, and measure the Services, including to train our artificial intelligence/machine learning models.” A separate paragraph says the scraping of public internet data used for the “initial development” of its models is processing the company “no longer carr[ies] out”; that sentence is about web data, not your chats.
- Human review. The Community Guidelines state that “our systems filter illegal or harmful content through both automated moderation and human review.” The terms say the company uses “automated and manual measures” to identify violations. Assume a person can read a flagged chat.
- Retention. “We keep your information for the time necessary for the purposes for which it is processed,” with no stated period, plus retention “to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.”
- Popular characters survive you. If a character you created has been made available to others, the company “reserve[s] the right to preserve that Character’s characteristics and to keep that Character active on the Services, even if you otherwise delete your data and your account.”
- Advertising. Personal information may be disclosed “to advertising and analytics providers in connection with the provision of tailored advertising.” The opt-outs the policy lists are for “sales of personal information or targeted advertising,” not for training.
- Age. The policy restates the terms: no one under 13, or under 16 in the EEA or UK, may use the service, and the 18+ line for chat is enforced by age assurance rather than by the policy.
- Deletion. “You may delete your account through your account profile page,” and rights requests go through the help-centre form. Age-assurance selfies and IDs are handled by Persona and deleted within seven days, per the help centre.
How that compares with the alternatives is the subject of my privacy scorecard, where the uncensored apps are graded on the same six questions; CrushOn, for example, states plainly that chat contents are used “for training our models,” and SpicyChat’s terms grant a perpetual licence to your chats. None of the apps on this page is private in the way people hope, and the safety guide has the checklist I use before typing anything into any of them: a separate email address, no real names, no real-life details, and the assumption that a moderator may read it.
The short version, for the person who scrolled straight here: is NSFW allowed on Character AI? No. Will it be? Not on any evidence. Can the beta site, a jailbreak or c.ai+ get around that? No, no and no, and the first two can cost you the account. If that is what you want, pick an app that allows it, read its policy first, and keep your name out of the chat. The about page explains who I am and why I read these documents for a living, and the contact page is the fastest route if a policy on this page changes before I catch it.
I re-read Character.AI's terms, guidelines and privacy policy every month and keep a spreadsheet of what changed. One email a week with what moved, which alternatives got looser or stricter, and what each one really costs.
Frequently asked questions
Does Character AI allow NSFW in 2026?
No. The Community Guidelines prohibit pornographic content and nudity, the Terms of Service ban obscene or pornographic content, and the October 2024 safety update names graphic or specific descriptions of sexual acts as off limits. There is no age-gated toggle, no paid unlock and no adults-only mode. Romance and suggestion are allowed on paper, but the filter is intent-based and often stops scenes well before anything explicit.
Will Character AI allow NSFW in the future?
Nothing the company has published points that way. Every policy change since October 2024 has tightened the rules: a stricter model for minors, removal of open-ended chat for under-18s on November 25, 2025, and age assurance for everyone in 2026. Character.AI sells itself as entertainment and fandom, runs ads on the free tier, and is defending lawsuits about teen safety. An adult mode would cut against all three, so plan on the answer staying no.
Can beta Character AI do NSFW?
No. beta.character.ai was the original public site from September 16, 2022, and it ran the same filter as the app. It was fully retired in September 2024 and the address now leads to the current site. Guides that still promise an unfiltered beta are describing something that no longer exists, and the current Terms of Service treat any attempt to evade a technological protection as a violation.
Does c.ai+ remove the filter?
No. c.ai+ costs $9.99 a month or $94.99 a year and buys no ads, no slow mode, unlimited swipes, better memory, the DeepSqueak and LongSqueak chat styles, advanced Lorebook and priority support, per the plus page. The content rules and the filter are identical on free and paid accounts. Payments are non-refundable except where the law requires it, so do not subscribe expecting a looser model.
Can you get banned from Character AI for trying to bypass the filter?
Yes, it is possible. The Community Guidelines prohibit attempts to manipulate the system or bypass safety systems, and the Terms of Service let the company suspend or terminate an account it believes has acted against the letter or spirit of the terms. In practice a blocked message does nothing; repeated jailbreak attempts are what draw warnings, slowdowns and, in serious cases, a permanent ban.
What should I use instead of Character AI for adult roleplay?
SpicyChat if you want a Character.AI-style library with no filter and a real free tier (plans from $5.95 a month). CrushOn.ai if price matters most ($58.88 a year, about $4.91 a month). Janitor AI if you want free unfiltered chat and can live with a weak default model or set up your own. Joyland is looser than Character.AI but not uncensored. All four ban minors and real-person sexual content.
